The crazy clock incident happens in the Bacon Family House every morning ever since the boogeyman came to terroize Frances and Darwin after getting mad about Frances starting to not believe in her imageinary friend Zooey. The clock in the house every night changes to every hour and finally stops at 7:00 when it's time for Frances, Darwin and Her family to get up for work and school in the morning because of the boogeyman possessing the clocks in the house to act crazy and out of order. Weirdly enough everytime this happens in the house the whole family gets up out of bed thinking it's time to get ready for work and school. But Frances and Darwin's dad know something's up the minute he heard the clock go off in his and his wife's room he ends up going on his computer to go online and look up the time on a weather and time website and sure enough he was right and it is actually 4:00 in the morning so everybody goes back to their room until 7:00. But really the boogeyman was playing tricks on them to scare them.
